What the Reference section is for
The other sections of this guide follow the screens: one page per screen or task. The Reference section follows questions that span several screens:
- "What comes next after I award the work?" — the order of the whole process, from the BoQ to the approved payment application, is on End-to-end: from BoQ to payment.
- "What does the pill Offer sent (Изпратена оферта) mean?" — every status of every module, with its Bulgarian label, its meaning and the next possible step, is on All statuses explained.
- "Is a „акт“ the same as a report?" — every domain term, with the words people also use for it, is on Glossary.
- "Why is the button gray?" or "What does this error mean?" — the most common problems, grouped by area, with cause and fix, are on Troubleshooting and FAQ.
- "What changed recently?" — the main additions to BuildColab are on What's new.
The pages are written so that each paragraph and each table row can be read on its own. This helps people who jump straight to one answer, and it helps the BORO assistant and other AI tools that search this guide and quote one passage at a time.
How to use the Reference section
- Start with End-to-end: from BoQ to payment if you are new to BuildColab or new to a role (investor, general contractor or subcontractor). It shows each step in order, who does it, and links to the page that explains it.
- When a screen shows a status pill, chip or badge you do not understand, look it up on All statuses explained. The tables list the English and Bulgarian label exactly as on screen.
- When a word in the app or in a conversation is unclear, look it up on Glossary. It also lists the everyday words people use for the same thing, for example „акт“ or „искане за плащане“ for a payment application (in BuildColab: Report / Отчет).
- When something does not work, find the area on Troubleshooting and FAQ and read the cause and the fix. The error messages are quoted exactly, so you can search the page for the text you see.
- To learn what was added to the product, read What's new.
- When you need more detail, follow the link at the end of each entry to the module page.
Pages in this section
- End-to-end: from BoQ to payment: the full chain for the investor, the general contractor and the subcontractor, with a who-does-what table and what becomes binding at each step.
- All statuses explained: every status, phase, pill and badge in the product, in English and Bulgarian, with meaning, next steps and who moves it.
- Glossary: every domain term in English and Bulgarian with a one-line definition, the alternative words users say, and a link to the page that explains it.
- Troubleshooting and FAQ: the most common problems and error messages, grouped by area, each with cause and fix.
- What's new: the highlights of version 2.2 and the modules added around it.
Asking BORO instead of searching
The BORO assistant knows this user guide. Click BORO in the top bar and ask in your own words, in English or Bulgarian, for example "What does Closed · replaced mean on my offer request?" or "Какво означава статус „Заявена актуализация“?". BORO searches the guide and answers with the steps. It can also look at your real data, for example list the offer requests that are still waiting for offers. See BORO — AI assistant.
Common questions
Where do I start if I have never used BuildColab?
Read Getting started to create an account and join or create a company, then End-to-end: from BoQ to payment to see the whole process for your role.
Why does the guide say "payment application" when the screen says "Report"?
The screens call a payment application Report (Отчет). The guide uses "payment application" in running text and quotes the screen label in bold. Both mean the same document. See Glossary.
Why does the guide say "offer request" when the screen says "bid request"?
The screens use "bid request" (Bulgarian „запитване“). The guide uses "offer request" in running text and quotes the exact label in bold, for example Outgoing bid requests (Изходящи запитвания).
The guide shows a button that I don't have. Why?
Buttons and menu entries depend on the project phase, your company's role in the project, your permissions and your plan. Entries you lack permission or plan for show a padlock. See Troubleshooting and FAQ and Permission reference.
