Linking the BoQ: distribution and matching

How BoQ positions get into the schedule

• Copy BOQ Structure. Every BoQ position is placed automatically under the copied categories. You only add dates.
• New Structure. You drag positions or whole BoQ categories from the BOQ Structure (preview) panel into your own categories and group tasks. A dropped position arrives with distribution Quantity = 0 — it carries nothing until you set the distribution.
• Import from MS Project. Activities arrive unlinked. You assign positions to them by hand with Assign BOQ tasks, or let BORO propose the matches.
• Carry-over. Links of the previous BoQ version are kept for positions that still exist.

The same BoQ position may be placed in several rows, for example split over two stages or two floors, as long as the rows together do not carry more than the BoQ quantity.

How to set the distribution of a row

1. Open Schedule structure (Структура на графика) and expand the linked row in the left tree.
2. Choose the type in the Distribution type control: Full, Quantity, Left quantity, Percent or Manual.
3. For Quantity or Percent, set the value with the slider or type it. The hint "{value} remaining" shows how much is still free.
4. The change saves automatically: "Distribution updated successfully" (Разпределението беше обновено успешно).

You cannot distribute more than the BoQ quantity. A value that would exceed it is refused with "Distribution exceeds available quantity: {details}". Reduce another row of the same position first.

Distribution of a group task

A group task has no quantity of its own, but you can set the type for all its tasks at once:

1. Click Set distribution (Задай разпределение) next to the group's name.
2. Choose the type. Percent applies one value to every task. Quantity only sets the type — "Enter each child's quantity below". Full, Left quantity and Manual apply directly.
3. The message "Group distribution applied to its tasks" confirms it.

A task whose distribution you changed in its own row gets the badge Manual (Ръчно, "Set manually — a group distribution change will not overwrite it"). The group skips it from then on. Click Switch to automatic (Превключи на автоматично) to make it follow the group again.

BoQ coverage

The summary Total BOQ coverage (Общо покритие на BOQ) at the top of the structure editor shows the share of the BoQ quantity already placed in the schedule and how many positions are in each state. Each position in the BOQ Structure (preview) panel also shows a colored bar with "Covered:" (Покрито:) and its state.

1. Total BOQ coverage (Общо покритие на BOQ) with the overall percentage.
2. The counts of positions per state: Full, Partial, No coverage, Manual only.
3. The coverage bar under a BoQ position with "Covered:" and its state.

What happens when the BoQ changes

Schedules follow their BoQ. When you edit the BoQ, the message "Syncing schedule with BOQ…" (Синхронизиране на графика с КСС…) may appear, and afterwards a short notice such as "Schedule updated: {count} task(s) removed".

How to resolve "Schedule over-coverage"

1. The window explains: "The new quantity is lower than what is already distributed in the schedule. Reduce the distributions to fit within the new quantity before continuing."
2. For each affected position it shows "Covered: … / Target: …" and the schedule rows that carry it. Lower the Percent or Quantity rows until the covered amount fits the target. Rows with Full or Left quantity cannot be edited here.
3. Click Apply and continue (Приложи и продължи). The distributions are saved and your BoQ quantity change is applied. Cancel drops the BoQ change.

Linking an imported MS Project schedule

After an MS Project import, activities have dates but no BoQ positions. Activities without sub-tasks become empty group tasks with the badge Needs BOQ tasks (За попълване).

By hand

1. In the structure editor, click Assign BOQ tasks (Добави позиции от КСС) on the empty group.
2. In Assign BOQ tasks to group (Добавяне на позиции от КСС към групата), search with "Search BOQ tasks…" (Търсене на позиции от КСС…) and pick the positions. "No matching BOQ tasks" means the search found nothing.
3. Choose the Distribution (Разпределение) and click Assign (Добави).

You can also drag positions from the BoQ panel onto any activity, as in a new structure.

With BORO (matching)

For a large schedule, ask BORO to match the BoQ to the schedule, for example: "Match the budget BoQ to the imported schedule." There is no separate matching screen; it works through the BORO chat:

1. BORO starts a matching run in the background. It proposes which BoQ positions belong to which activity, with a confidence tier (high, medium, low). It can also split a position over repeated stages (for example ЕТАП 1 / ЕТАП 2) in proportion to their duration. Nothing is written to the schedule yet.
2. BORO shows you the draft: a summary, the proposals per tier, the proposed splits, ambiguous positions that need your decision, and what stayed unmatched on both sides.
3. Ask for the Excel report of the draft if you want to review it in a spreadsheet. BORO returns a download link; the file is not saved to the file manager.
4. Tell BORO what to apply, for example "apply all high-confidence matches", or give explicit pairs. In the BORO panel you approve on an approval card by default before anything is written. You can apply in several rounds.
5. For leftovers, ask BORO to link specific positions to specific activities, or to remove a wrong link. Ask for the coverage check to see what is still uncovered.
